This was a painting that I ended up thinking about off and on for a couple of years and then working on for over a year, until it was complete. Some painting ideas come quickly to me, while other ones I let peculate in my mind, until finally deciding on a scene for them. I work from photographs for the animals that I paint, while the rest of the scene is from my imagination and memories. Anyways, I find baby donkeys to be one of the sweetest looking farm animals. This one was born on a midwestern farm, living with its mother and several goats there. This painting is done in acrylic paint on a stretched canvas.
