American Heartland Landscape Art by Sharon France

I am a contemporary artist who specializes in rural American landscape paintings. I most often paint what I see around me in the quiet rural midwest. I love painting the peaceful landscapes of old historical Americana, meadows, fields, farmsteads, barns, farms & houses under hazy, sunset & big blue skies of the heartland. I have been working on a series of paintings that show my impression of these calm and quiet landscapes of the United States. My work is in private collections throughout the U.S. as well as being sold to collectors in: Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Portugal, Iceland, Belgium, Italy, Japan and Australia.

About the Artist

The contemporary modern landscape paintings on this page are from several series that I have been working on. I have been influenced by aspects of impressionism, luminism, tonalism, as well as the abstract and realism. My paintings have been described as having an intriguing peacefulness, in their quiet simplicity.
