Old Red Barn Painting

Behind the Field of Wheat

A ripe field of winter wheat is the foreground for this simple barn and shed scene.  I decided on one of my “blue sky days” for the sky area of this painting.

Old Red Barn Painting

Red Barn Under a Yellow Sky

Yellow, red and green.  I find them such a warm and cheerful color combination.  I painted a simple red barn with three old fence posts near it in this country scene.

Barn Rows Painting

Young rows of soybeans in the field with a traditional red barn and sheds beyond, is what I decided on for this early summer scene here in the Heartland.  The new rows of corn and beans coming up is always a welcome site, especially after a long winter!

Red Barn Painting

A Blue Sky Day

This original red barn painting is done in acrylic paint on a 16 x 20″ stretched canvas.  The barn sits behind my minimal, abstracted field rows.

Old Red Barn Original Painting

I work from very small to large for my original paintings of the Midwestern Heartland.  This tiny painting measure 7 x 5″ and is done on hardboard.

Red Barn Blue Sky Painting

I love seeing days when our midwestern sky is full of those beautiful fluffy cottonball clouds floating by.  For this piece I decided on a angular field pattern behind the old red barn.

Old Farm Original Painting

Haze Over the Poppy Farm

I decided on a field of bright red poppies as the foreground area of this old red barn and farmhouse painting scene.  This piece measures 16 x 12″ and is done on stretched canvas in acrylic paint.

Old Red Barn Painting

In this painting I wanted to give the feeling of the remnants of an old farmstead.  I  included the old red barn and sheds, without the house that would have once stood there also.

Old Red Barn Original Landscape Painting

This painting measures 16 x 20″ and is painted in acrylic on stretched canvas.  I painted this in my slightly abstracted style for the feel of mature late summer crops in the field rows.  I sometimes us photographs for reference, yet most of my paintings come from my imagination, or memories of places that I have seen over the years on the quiet back roads of our Heartland.  I love the old barns and farmhouses and always seem to have a new idea in the back of my head for a painting.  I hope that you will enjoy viewing my original work!
