Biography of Sharon France |

| I live and paint in a quiet rural farm setting in the midwest. I especially enjoy painting scenes of historical Americana in the heartland; especially simple views of old barns, farms, houses, cabins, hazy days & big skies. I am interested in the feeling of atmosphere in my paintings and my impression of the remains of old barns, houses and farmsteads upon the landscape. I often combine elements of impressionism, tonalism and realism into my paintings. I studied art at Northern Illinois University where I received my Fine Arts Degree.
My work has been shown in national & regional juried exhibitions including:
Midwest Pastel Society Show - Palette & Chisel Academy Chicago, IL Arkansas Wildlife Federation Exhibition Illinois Department of Conservation "Step into the Wild" Competition Kansas Pastel Society Annual Exhibition Agriculture in Art at the New Visions Gallery, Marshfield, WI International Small Works Show, Fairfield, IAInrks Show Springfield Art Association "The Modern Landscape", Springfield, IL
My art work is on the cover of a classical music CD "Wingra Plays Dvorak". An article about my original heartland landscape paintings was on the online Art Magazine "Empty Easel". and my paintings have also been used to illustrate a heritage cookbook by "Cinagro Farm" that is available on Amazon.
My original landscape paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S. as well as in: Canada, France, Iceland, Belgium, Ireland, England, Scotland, Portugal, Japan, Brazil, Italy and Australia. |
